Arrival & Scenic Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet your Miana guide and embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s picturesque landscape. En route, visit the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza and witness the stunning tea plantations surrounding Nyungwe. Arrive at your lodge nestled at the edge of the ancient rainforest.

Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk Adventure

Early morning briefing at park headquarters before venturing into Nyungwe’s dense rainforest. Track habituated chimpanzee families through the forest, spending an unforgettable hour observing their natural behaviors. After lunch, experience the forest canopy on East Africa’s only aerial walkway, spotting birds and monkeys from 50 meters above ground.

Journey to the Land of Volcanoes

After breakfast, travel north through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside towards the Virunga Mountains. The journey offers spectacular views of rolling hills and rural villages. Golden Monkey Tracking & Departure

Embark on a final primate adventure tracking the endangered golden monkeys through the bamboo forests. These playful primates offer a delightful contrast to the gorilla experience. After the trek, enjoy lunch before beginning your return journey to Kigali. En route, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a poignant understanding of Rwanda’s history. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Gorilla permits are limited and sell out months in advance. Book at least 6-9 months ahead for peak season.

Fitness Requirements
Gorilla trekking involves hiking at high altitude. A moderate fitness level is recommended. Porters are available to assist.

Travel insurance with medical evacuation is mandatory. Yellow fever vaccination is required for Rwanda entry.
