Detailed Itinerary (Start: Entebbe)

Day 1 — Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

07:00 – 08:00: Meet at Entebbe International Airport / hotel. Safari briefing.

08:00 – 10:00: Depart westwards; stop at the Equator for photos and stretch break.

10:00 – 14:00: Continue scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth NP (total driving time approx. 6–7 hours including stops).

14:00 – 15:00: Lunch and check-in at lodge.

16:00 – 18:30: Evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains — great for elephants, buffalo, Uganda kobs and possibly lions.

Day 2 — Kyambura Chimp Trek & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

06:30 – 07:30: Early breakfast.

07:30 – 11:30: Chimp tracking in Kyambura Gorge (forest walk; approx. 3–4 hours including briefing). Spend up to 1 hour with the chimp group when found.

12:00 – 13:30: Return to lodge for lunch and short rest.

14:30 – 16:30: Relaxing 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel — prime hippo and bird viewing and great photography opportunities.

17:30 – 18:30: Optional evening sundowner at the lodge.

Day 3 — Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha (Tree-Climbing Lions)

06:30 – 08:00: Breakfast and check-out.

08:00 – 11:30: Drive to the Ishasha sector for wildlife viewing (search for tree-climbing lions and other savannah species).

11:30 – 12:30: Lunch en route.

12:30 – 16:30: Continue through the Kigezi highlands to Bwindi (total driving time for this leg approx. 4–5 hours depending on roads).

16:30 – 18:00: Check-in, dinner and rest — prepare for tomorrow’s trek.

Day 4 — Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

06:00 – 07:00: Early breakfast at the lodge.

07:00 – 07:30: Transfer to park headquarters for briefing and allocation.

07:30 – 14:30: Gorilla trek (trek duration varies; typically 2–6 hours; allow up to 8 hours). Enjoy the permitted 1-hour close encounter when gorillas are located.

14:30 – 16:00: Return to the lodge, refresh and depart for Lake Bunyonyi (drive approx. 2–3 hours).

16:00 – 18:00: Arrive at Bunyonyi Rock Resort; relax by the lake and enjoy the sunset.

Day 5 — Nature Walk & Return to Entebbe (Departure)

06:30 – 08:00: Morning guided nature walk around Lake Bunyonyi (optional boat ride or island visit).

09:30 – 18:30: Drive back to Entebbe / Kampala with comfort stops and lunch en route (total driving time approx. 7–8 hours including breaks).

18:30 – onward: Airport drop-off or transfer to accommodation (end of tour).

Chimp & Gorilla Trekking Notes

  • Minimum age: 12 years for chimps; 15 years for gorillas.
  • Treks can be strenuous — a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
